Behind The Company: Meet Our Founder!

Hi everyone, and welcome! My name is Sarah. I'm a 22-year-old dream-chaser, health enthusiast, digital designer, earth and animal lover.
In this article, I am going to share with you a little bit about myself and why I decided to start up The Humble Wagon. On Saturday, January 19, 2019 - I decided to begin my journey of a plant-based lifestyle. After watching the documentary "What The Health" by Kip Anderson and Keegan Kuhn, I knew immediately that I was ready for a change. I quit all animal and animal by-products after watching a 1 hour, 37 minute long documentary. Yep, that's all it took.
I, being the health conscious person that I am, did it for (you guessed it) - health reasons. But then I realized the deep and dark secrets when it came to factory farming.
I've loved animals for as long as I can remember. I remember always wanting another pet when I was little. I was always the one with the responsibilities of taking care of our family pets and making sure they are as happy as they can possibly be!
That said, animals have always been apart of my life, and finding out that there are so many being disrespected, tortured, and slaughtered - had opened my eyes to a whole new level (especially after watching half of Earthings on YouTube... I couldn't bare to watch the entire film).
I was so interested now. I've read books, watched more documentaries (including Cowspiracy - which had opened my eyes about the environmental aspect).
Aside from accepting my new lifestyle - I've also always had an interest in entrepreneurship. It sparked in me when I was around 14 years old and wanted to start my own online boutique with my best friend selling cheap stuff from China (😂). We started our own YouTube channel thinking we were going to be famous, and then named our little boutique "Charmelo" - not thinking that the name is actually a well-known basketball player (come on, Sarah...).
Anyway... that didn't go as planned. We had no idea what we were doing.
Once I was finished high school, my next mission was to wander off into the journey everyone expected to me to go through. College. I majored in biology but never ended up graduating with a degree because I then went to trade school to be a dental assistant. Unfortunately, I found that as interesting as the field may be - it didn't fit my personality. It just wasn't for me.
My entrepreneurship mind clicked in again. I wanted to do something for myself but for a cause as well. My new love for veganism empowered me to start The Humble Wagon. I wanted to inspire people to do the right thing. So on August 30th, 2019 - The Humble Wagon was born!
I developed this business on my very own. I used my resources, learned how to build a proper website, learned about taxes and more. While this journey has been a roller coaster, it has truly brought out the person that I am and plan to be for the rest of my life! I want to encourage all my amazing customers to be humble towards our planet and the animals we share it with! I want to help inspire a cruelty-free lifestyle around the world. I'm so happy to say that part of our profits will be donated to Animal Sanctuaries and Ocean Conservation - so with every purchase you make, you are contributing to a beautiful cause.
So - I want to thank anyone who has read this far along. If you're still here, I appreciate you more than you think!
Remember that when you purchase from The Humble Wagon - you're not helping a CEO buy their 3rd summer home in Hawaii - you're helping a girl live the dream she's always wanted; you're helping her spread her message and inspire others across the globe.
So much love to each and every one of my readers and customers!
